I can't walk!!

I limped into to Sophie's school today as if I am injured or something. No, no injury just an exercise class yesterday full of lunges and squats. I have decided to run the full marathon this year to usher in my 40th Birthday (becaue surely if I run a full marathon I am not old right?!?), anyway, I thought an exercise class would help me get in shape. So, Lyric and I go over to our church where surely the exercise class will be easy and simple, I mean it's at church it can't be too tough, right-WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The instructor was even playing the Olympic theme song and training us like we are on the olympic gymnastic team.......okay.......so maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but the class was full of legs and abs exercises. I mean we used steps, weights, balls, bands, paper plates (don't ask) all kinds of stuff. Later in the day Lyric and felt like our legs were very tired, as she put it, like when your epidural is wearing off and your legs are shaky. So, we thought we may run today or she may attend another class, we thought we would be fine today. Well.........

Waking up in the middle of night unable to turn over because I can't move my legs was the first sign I had over done it! After I woke up this morning I proceeded to have hold onto objects in my house just to walk and made loud noises (you know like a weighlifter) when I had to bend down. I then limped into Sophie's class like I had just had surgery or something. It is ridiculous!! I am in pain. I just took 3 Ibuprofen and if this does not work I am just going to lay on the floor all day.

So, this was going to be my first post about my marathon plans and about getting back in shape, eating right etc. I had hoped that it would be an inspiring blog that would motivate all of my friends to want to run the marathon too. But, instead I have to report that after just one day of exercise I can't walk so I just sat on the couch and ate cheetos and a rice krispy treat. I am off to a great start!

Oh the pain! You are so funny, who knew that a church exercise class could be so evil to the muscles we never knew existed on our behinds. I am thankful to whoever invented Advil. It does make for a great blog entry though....

I loved your blog! I can easily call up that feeling...I remember it well. But I enjoyed reading and eating a See's candy while doing so. Is that bad?
